Beacon of Hope Uganda is supported through private and governmental grants, through the donations of thoughtful individual international donors, and through the services of volunteers who generously lend their time and professional services.
SPONSORSHIPS
*As much as we would like to, BoHU does not have adequate staff to oversee written updates between sponsors and the children they sponsor. In the case of older children, we do pledge to provide them with paper, pencil, postage, and assistance in writing you a letter of gratitude. This policy may change with the addition of staff or volunteers able to coordinate the effort. Of course, you are always welcome to visit your child in
100% of each donation benefits the sponsored child. BoHU sends your money directly to the orphanage or school to benefit sponsored children and takes no administrative fee.

Should you be unable to afford $450, please consider making a smaller general orphan donation, designating its general use for “food” or “medical care”. Your donation really can save a life!

Sponsor a child to attend school and allow them to dream of a future…
Without an education, the future of the Ugandan child is without hope. School sponsorships are $300 per year. For what equates to $25 per month, your sponsorship covers tuition, uniforms, books, school requirements and other basic supplies like pens and pencils, etc. If you wish to support a child’s education but can not afford $300, please consider making a smaller donation to our BoHU Education Fund. This fund assists students who may be able to afford to pay a portion of their school fees, but are refused entry to school because they don’t have the total amount. Rather than dropping out of school, BoHU covers the fees for these children until we can find sponsors for them.

Long before there was ever thought of erecting a proper building in which to house the Technical Trade/Leadership Skills Center, BoHU was offering crafts and technical skills training to the youth of Mukono. We presently have a waiting list of youth wishing to access training, but are lacking the equipment necessary to expand. To view a list of needs and their associated costs, click here.

Donate to the BoHU General Program Fund
The General Program Fund is important to us. It allows us to keep our doors open by providing support for overhead and non-specific programmatic activities. One of our greatest costs is transportation as we conduct community work in outlying villages. The GPF also provides funding for occasional printing of educational materials for use as seed money for emerging programs,
